Soft and Chewy Chocolate Chip cookies
If your family is like mine they love the soft and chewy Chocolate Chip cookie better than the crunchy kind. So while I was baking them yesterday, I thought this would be the perfect time to take some photos and put the recipe on the blog. So here it is I hope you like them as much as my family.
Soft and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
Heat oven to 375 degrees.
2/3 cup shortening
2/3 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoon vanilla
3 ¼ cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
12 oz of semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts
Combine and Mix thoroughly shortening, butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla.
Add dry ingredients until completely mixed through
Drop dough by rounded spoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 8-10 minutes or until light brown. do not over cook!
VERY IMPORTANT: Do NOT remove the cookies from baking sheet
until sheet is cool ( about five minutes after taking out of the oven)
This allows cookies to finish cooking as sheet cools.
If you want a crunchier cookie jusl allow them to cook an extra 2 to 3 minutes
Makes about 7 dozen cookies.
